For those who come for the beer, the historic monument of the once steam-powered brewery of Lobeč is a testament to the five-hundred-year old tradition of beer brewing in the Kokořín region. As one of the oldest existing breweries in the Czech Republic it has an amazing history: from centuries old methods of brewing, through periods of modernisation and communism to its current revival. Kokořínsko is one of our favourite spots in the Czech Republic. Not far from Prague you will find this serene, undisturbed and picturesque area ideal for hiking. Come with us to discover this region full of centuries old cottages, deep tranquil lakes and fascinating sandstone formations. Learn how people live here and soak up the beauty of the Czech countryside!

We are George and Leona, food and travel enthusiasts, who have been running a food tour company in Prague since 2014.

After three years of running Prague Food Tour company, we wanted to find a way to let you experience not only great food, but also the beautiful Czech countryside. We established Gourmet Hiking Tours which combines two of our greatest passions – food and nature.

You are invited to join us on our gourmet hiking tour where we will be walking, eating and drinking our way through wonderful parts of the Czech countryside whilst learning about Czech culture and history. We know you´ll love it just as much as we do.

WHAT YOU NEED

You will need comfortable shoes and clothes suitable for walking in, as well as your raincoat for wetter days. We will be walking mainly through forests on well marked tracks and paths.

QUESTIONS

What is included in the price of the tour?
Everything from the food served on the picnic, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, guided hiking, the microbrewery visit, beer tasting, transport and our maps with insider tips on what to do and where to eat in Prague.

Can kids join the tour?
This tour is aimed for persons over 15 years of age. However alternative solutions can be discussed.

Can I join the tour if I have walking issues?
The tours are recommended for people who are comfortable walking on uneven and hilly terrain for distances of/longer than 7 km /4.4 mile.

Do I need any special gear?
No, only comfortable shoes and clothes suitable for walking in.

What is the difference between the tours?
Kokořínsko tour is off-the-beaten path and we will probably meet only a few locals during the hike. It focuses on beer and food, the hike is easier than the Bohemian Switzerland NP hike.
The Bohemian Switzerland NP tour focuses mostly on hiking and food. The hike is also more difficult.

How to book a tour with us?
Please start by filling out the form below. After receiving your inquiry we will let you know about availability during the requested period. Once a date has been agreed upon, we will send an email including detailed information about the tour and you will be asked to pay a deposit to secure your place on the tour. When the deposit has been received we will send you a confirmation.

What is our cancellation policy?
We will fully refund your deposit in case you cancel at least two weeks before the scheduled tour.
